Fernando and Vicente Roscubas
The Roscubas brothers, Fernando and Vicente, sculpt larger than life totems. The totems, ranging from 4–7 feet in height, embody a modern take on ancient forms; conjuring up memories of African masks, as well as the totems of Easter Island, and other ancient cultures. The Roscubas brothers are interested in facial expression, its interior, silence, and look, everything that a being projects. They believe, the face is the place where this manifests to the greatest extent. Each totem captures a similar face yet in varying sizes and color schemes.
